I’m currently back in America’s Dairyland for a few weeks, catching up with friends and enjoying break, before heading back to my second semester of graduate school. A few days, I’ve been wandering around Milwaukee with friends, trying out some old favorites and new places. Here’s a quick run down of what I enjoyed.
Old Favorites:
If I’m in the Third Ward District, I almost always stop by the Milwaukee Public Market. This time I stopped by Thief Wine, where my friend and I enjoyed some of their tasting flights. I also noticed their clocks showing markets around the world.
Next up is the Milwaukee Art Museum which recently finished its renovations and is currently having their grand reopening. We stopped by there for a few hours and enjoyed some old and new artworks to the museum, including one of my personal favorites the Infinity Chamber.
The lakefront is also a favorite of mine to walk around, though in December it was rather cold and windy.
One of my favorite coffee chains is Colectivo Coffee with their great roasts and fun designs, every visit is enjoyable. I tried their Lakefront location for the first time recently, which is set up in a historic 1888 flushing station. It’s a beautiful building that I hope to return to in summer when I can enjoy their outdoor seating.
New Favorites:
On one Madison trip, I met a friend for brunch at Cafe Benelux in the Third Ward. There I enjoyed their Maple Manhattan and Duck Poutine Skillet, both fantastic items. I will definitely be returning the next time I’m in the area.
